I've been running a daycare for 18 years, and while this is a fulfilling job (I'm told), it tends to get boring after year two. Then I purchased the Speedy Diner Game, and life suddenly became worthwhile and fun!

This toy is best combined with any Gordon Ramsay DVD. I sit the kids down to watch the DVD first, then bring out the game. I also tinkered with the timer so the kids have half the allowed time to prepare and deliver their food. Oh, and I am ALWAYS the customer. The very loud, demanding customer. I also taught my pet parrot Bunkotillo to scream "BUGS IN THE KITCHEN" at 30-second intervals which brought new meaning to the word "frenetic".

If you are a dedicated childcare professional, you will take the extra time to collect real bugs to add to the authenticity of the game. I keep cockroaches in a jar hidden in my purse, and let them out just before my meal arrives.

They were SO right when they said this game serves up big laughs. Just picture adorable little kitchen tyrants shoving food at stressed-out waiters who are screaming and slapping roaches off their little aprons. Kids can just be SO funny!

I love this game because it is a copperative game that helps children learn how to play together. The pieces are fun and colorful and durable. My child could play this over and over and not get tired of it. Great game!!! I would recommend this game!

This game is very weak in both the educational and fun aspects.
Speaking to the spelling component, for the entire game, each player only spells one word, so the max number of words you can learn to spell is the number of players in the game.
The honey bee facts are kind of cool, but the annoying part about them is that some of the facts don't make any sense because they depend on other facts that may or may not have been revealed yet.
The fun factor is low because there are long boring stretches where nothing happens. Draw a card, move some spaces, do nothing. Your turn. Repeat.
The game is pure luck and while that can be fun in some well designed games, this game allows one player to easily get ahead with no chance of the other players catching up, which leads to devastating losses.
Finally the game storage is annoying because the two types of cards don't have separate compartments so they have to be resorted every time.

By M. H. Bayliss "book queen" I think even young children will enjoy this game. My daughter was under 4 when we started, but she loves the counting aspect of the game. It's great for number recognition skills because you make them say the number on the die outloud as they "roll." The only rule I don't like is that you need a "6" to start. Often that makes the beginning a bit slow if no one gets a 6. Once things get going, it's a lot of fun and easy to play. The thing in the middle is harder to push than it looks, so for very young children, they may not be strong enough to push it. 3-4 year olds should have no problem though and it makes a satisfying pop. A fun and easy game -- avoid if your child still puts small plastic pieces in his mouth though.

I have a hard time finding a game my daughters will both agree on. When I found Trouble, I found relief! It's one game they agree on and the whole family can get into the action. The die helped my youngest learn to recognize her numbers. What a wonderful family game. My hat's off to you Amazon for selling this game and thank you Hasbro for making such a wonderful family game!

This is a fun game that's easy for little ones to play, too. It's very much like Sorry, except that instead of cards you have a dome with a die inside that you "pop" on your turn. The only problem with the game is that it isn't very sturdy. My husband compared it with the one he played as a little boy and he was disappointed. And you definitely have to keep it picked up, otherwise all the little pegs will get lost. But my kids like it and I don't mind playing it with them.

Over forty years old and going strong! Soon after its release in 1966, Twister was made instantly popular when Johnny Carson and Eva Gabor played it on The Tonight Show. Such a simple concept, with so much potential for hilarity. The game includes a plastic mat with red, blue, yellow, and green spots; a spinner; and instructions. To play (as if you didn’t already know…), two to four players face each other, with the plastic mat in the center. A referee spins the spinner, then calls out the body part and the color the arrow points to ("Left foot, blue," "Right hand, yellow"). All players, at the same time, follow the directions, placing the appropriate body part on a vacant circle. Players become increasingly entangled, until someone (or everyone) finally topples, and is eliminated. The last person standing—er, crouching—wins. My 14 year old son constantly berides us for remaining Nintendo-free. So imagine his surprise, when at his 14th birthday party his like-minded guests discovered "Twister," declaring it an "awesome" game.

We all know this goofy game, the one that "ties you up in knots." The boomer-echo kids haven't had the same experience with these silly games, and it is a real novelty to them. The funniest photos from said birthday party show these hip kids dissolving into giggles as the pile collapses on the mat.

There is even somewhat of an educational aspect to this game. To be successful, some advance planning and spatial relations skills are helpful in avoiding the inevitable collapse. This generation of kids has not always had the same level of hands-on spatial experience we enjoyed when tearing apart items from the junk heap. "Twister" is a fun way for kids to get some of this experience for themselves. As for their parents, I move MUCH more slowly with my 40-something muscles, but it's still a blast to play with the kids!

I have played this for years at birthday parties, but finally got one of my own last summer. So I took it to a Summer Youth Camp with me...and about 25 of us teens took turns on there. It was such a blast!
The only thing I would say is, if you have back or neck problems, you might want to skip this one. Or you could always be the spinner person. Either way, this one's tons of fun!

Everyone is a winner playing Twister. My husband and I took this to a school for at risk kids in Peru. There is nothing like a little fun to break through cultural barriers. They rather enjoyed watching us trying to beat each other along with them. We're buying extras to send back to the school. Classic games like Twister take you right back to childhood as you watch new generations give the spinner a try.
